San Jose police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting death outside a karaoke bar early Friday morning as Thai Vu, 25, of Milpitas. Police responded to multiple reports of a person being shot outside Happioke karaoke bar, located at 211 Senter Road, at 2:30 a.m.

Arriving on scene, officers encountered a large crowd and eventually located Vu in the parking lot. Vu was pronounced dead at 2:54 a.m. The suspects in the shooting had fled the scene when officers arrived.  Using a description of the vehicle given by witnesses, police located the suspect’s car and initiated a high-risk car stop at King Road in East San Jose.  There, officers arrested Jimmy Ho, 19, of Fremont, Johnny Le, 19, of San Jose and Andy Ho, 18, of Union City, police said.

Jimmy Ho and Le were booked into the Santa Clara County main jail on suspicion of murder, while Andy Ho was booked on suspicion of accessory to murder. All suspects were booked at 3:30 a.m.  Police say they will not release photos of the suspects until they have completed line-up identifications with potential witnesses.

This homicide is San Jose’s 18th this year. It is believed to be gang related, according to police.
