Police are trying to identify a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store in Pleasant Hill at gunpoint early Wednesday morning. The armed robbery was reported at 1:06 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 2396 Pleasant Hill Road, police said. A clerk there told police that a man had entered the store, pointed a black revolver at him, and ordered him to hand over cash from the store register, according to police.
The clerk complied, and the man fled with the money. The clerk then followed the suspect, who was last seen running toward an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Pleasant Hill Road. Officers immediately set up a perimeter and searched the area with the aid of two police K-9s and a California Highway Patrol helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspect, police said. He is described as a male of unknown racial origin who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a black jacket, pants and a white pulled-over hood, police said.
