San Leandro police arrested two suspected Norteno gang members after an off-duty police officer saw them spray-painting gang-related graffiti on BART support pillars early Tuesday, police said. The officer spotted the activity at 1 a.m. Tuesday at the San Leandro BART station and gave police a description of their car, a silver Cadillac.

At 1:45 a.m., another officer saw a Cadillac that fit the officer’s description in the 1600 block of Gardner Street. That officer approached the two men sitting in the car, and saw that there were spray paint cans inside the car and that one of them had paint on his hands.

The officer also found the other man to be in possession of marijuana, police said. Both were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and committing a felony while being part of a gang. Police identified the two men as Jeremy Priddy and Sebastian Arredonda, both 18-year-old San Leandro residents.

Priddy and Arredonda are believed to be members of the Norteno gang, and are suspected of vandalizing 17 different locations in the Williams Street and Davis Street areas of San Leandro, according to police.
