Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Lafayette this afternoon. Officers responded to a Bank of America branch in the 3500 block of Mount Diablo Boulevard at around 4 p.m., police said. Police said a man entered the bank, presented a note demanding money and ran away once he received the money.

Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies joined police from Lafayette, Orinda and Moraga to search the area but the suspect was not located. Police said BART service was temporarily disrupted during the search.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man, between the ages of 25 and 35, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, with a large mole on his right cheek. He was wearing a dark brown, long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and a red or brown baseball cap and sunglasses.
