Police are attempting to locate a suspect who robbed a Burger King restaurant in Watsonville at gunpoint early Saturday morning. Officers were dispatched at 5:12 a.m. Saturday to the Burger King located at 142 Main St., according to police. Employees there said that a short timer earlier, a male stood outside the restaurant’s doors and feigned injury, according to police.

When an employee opened the door to help him, the suspect brandished a handgun and ran inside the restaurant, police said. Police said the suspect forced the employees to the back of the restaurant and demanded cash. He then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the business. No employees were injured in the armed robbery.

The suspect remains at large, and is described as a Hispanic male who is about 6 feet tall with a thin build, light complexion and brown eyes, according to police.
