San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help to identify the people involved in a fight in Golden Gate Park on Sunday afternoon that left a man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The assault occurred shortly before 5 p.m. in the Sharon Meadows area of the park, near the Sharon Art Studio and tennis courts, police said. The 31-year-old victim was with friends who had attended the Bay to Breakers race earlier that day.

He and his friends were dressed as troll dolls, according to police. They were standing near a second group of about 12 males and females and an argument broke out between the two groups, police said. Police said some of the females in the second group were wearing purple and one was wearing an orange tutu, while the males were wearing red and white 49ers jerseys.

A male from the second group punched the victim, who fell and struck his head on the ground and lost consciousness. Police said the victim remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and has not regained consciousness.Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have pictures or video footage from the area around that time to come forward.
