Police arrested a man armed with a loaded weapon in San Leandro Friday night. Officers responded to a parking lot at 15251 Hesperian Boulevard on reports that a man had taken a gun from the trunk of his Cadillac and put it in his waistband, police said. Responding officers found the suspect sitting in his car holding a .40-caliber Glock. The officers made contact with the suspect and he put down the weapon, police said.
“This was an extremely dangerous call that could have been tragic for everybody involved including the officers,” police Lt. Jeff Tudor said in a statement. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Munser Mused of Oakland, was taken into custody without incident and the firearm was recovered, along with about 2 ounces of marijuana, police said. Mused was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony, possession of a loaded firearm in public and possession of marijuana for sale.
