A teenager was arrested after being found rummaging through an unlocked vehicle looking for items to steal early Sunday morning, police said. A resident of the 1800 block of Fieldstone Lane found a man looking through his vehicle shortly before 4:30 a.m. and detained him. When police arrived, the man, identified as Kevin Videtta, 18, of Petaluma, admitted to checking cars parked in the area to see if they were unlocked and whether there was anything inside to steal, police said.

Officers arrested Videtta and found stolen property in his bag, police said. Another victim on Maria Drive identified the property as having been stolen from a car on that street, police said.Videtta was transported to Sonoma County Jail and was being held on $5,000 bail.
