The Contra Costa County coroner’s office has identified a man killed Monday morning during an apparent drive-by shooting in North Richmond as 22-year-old Orlando Lamar Yancy. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call of shots fired in the area of Fifth Street and Silver Avenue at about 7:45 a.m., department spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Upon arrival, deputies found the Richmond man with multiple gunshot wounds and called the fire department and an ambulance, Lee said. Yancy was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a black or dark-colored sport utility vehicle, Lee said. Deputies are investigating the shooting with Richmond police.
