A Potter Valley man was arrested in Aptos on Sunday after being pulled over and getting into a physical altercation with an officer, according to the California Highway Patrol. A CHP officer pulled Jeffery King, 59, over around 9:30 p.m. at 7850 Soquel Drive and gave him a field sobriety test.  When the officer went to arrest King for drunken driving, however, he allegedly resisted.

Witnesses joined in to help restrain him, according to the CHP. After King was Tasered, the officer was able to arrest him. King was then taken to Dominican Hospital and booked into the Santa Cruz County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer.
