A woman in Concord is recovering after an incident Saturday night in which two acquaintances allegedly beat her with a lamp. Police got a report of the incident around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, when a 29-year-old woman reported the beating in a married couple’s home in the 2800 block of Pacific Street, Concord police Cpl. Jim Nielsen said.
A boy was seriously injured after being shot multiple times in Watsonville late Sunday night, police said this morning. Police responded to a report around 10:50 p.m. Sunday of shots fired in the 100 block of Miles Lane and found a male juvenile lying on the ground, police said.
Investigators learned that the victim was walking home Sunday night when he was confronted by several suspects who asked him about his gang affiliation.The victim denied being part of a gang, and one of the suspects shot him several times with a gun, police said. The suspects fled the area and remain at large. The boy was flown to a trauma center outside of Santa Cruz County where he was treated and listed in stable condition this morning.
