* Jorge Estrada suspected of carjacking a woman at gunpoint in Mill Valley arrested

A man suspected of carjacking a woman at gunpoint in Mill Valley last week was arrested in Walnut Creek Tuesday morning, police said. At about 2 a.m. Tuesday, an officer stopped a white van for a vehicle code violation on North Main Street at Penniman Way, police said.The officer quickly saw that the vehicle was reported stolen in an armed carjacking in Mill Valley May 4.

Additional officers arrived and arrested the driver, identified as Jorge Estrada, police said.During the arrest, police found Estrada in possession of narcotics, a loaded, stolen firearm and property stolen from the Mill Valley carjacking and from other robberies, police said.He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, narcotics possession and possession of a concealed, stolen firearm. Estrada was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility where he is being held on $165,000 bail.
