A man who was fatally stabbed in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Tuesday evening has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 42-year-old Kenneth Lyon. The stabbing was reported at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Howard Street, police said.
Lyon was apparently sitting on the curb outside a restaurant when someone walked up behind him and stabbed him in the back, according to police. Lyon was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect, a 52-year-old man, fled but was eventually taken into custody. Police have not yet released his name.
