The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating the City’s 14th homicide of 2012. On Monday, May 7th, at approximately 3:30 P.M., the San Jose Police Department’s Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a possible dead body on a pedestrian walkway in the area of Curtner Avenue and Highway 87. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who was deceased. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the area and took custody of the body. On Tuesday, May 8th, at approximately 4:00 P.M., the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.
Due to the early stage of the investigation, no information regarding the nature of injuries is being released. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notifications to next of kin. This homicide is not believed to be gang related. No further information is being released at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
