Residents who reported a stabbing death in San Jose early this morning have locked themselves in their home and refuse to cooperate with police, claiming they are armed with firearms, police said. Police responded to the report of a stabbing victim in the 200 block of Cleveland Avenue at 1:46 a.m.

The arriving officers found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The residents of the home that reported the stabbing locked themselves inside, and told police they would not cooperate and they were armed with guns. The police SWAT team responded to the scene and police remain outside the home.

Police have not yet determined what the relationship is between the residents and the stabbing victim.
