A cab driver was robbed at gunpoint and forced into the truck of his cab in Antioch late Thursday night and driven to Oakland where he was released unharmed, Antioch police said. The driver picked up the three suspects at around 11 p.m. Thursday at the Bay Point BART station and drove them to an apartment complex off of Delta Fair Boulevard in Antioch.
When they arrived at the apartments, one of the three suspects pulled out a gun and robbed the 45-year-old cab driver. The suspect then ordered the driver out of the car and into the trunk of the cab. The suspects then drove the cab to Oakland and released the driver unharmed and drove away in the cab. The driver flagged down a passerby who then called Oakland police shortly after midnight this morning, Antioch police said. The three suspects remain at large, and may still be driving the driver’s cab.
The cab is a yellow 1998 Lincoln Town car with California license plate 8Z27362. The suspect with the gun was a black man between 23 and 27 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, 145 to 160 pounds and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white lining.The second suspect was a similar race, age and height, between 170 and 180 pounds and wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. The third suspect was a black male wearing a gray hooded sweater and black jeans.
