A man suspected of robbing a Check N Go store in Pleasant Hill at gunpoint last month was arrested in San Francisco on Wednesday, Pleasant Hill police said.Arkeen Evans, 26, was taken into custody at the state parole office in San Francisco. Evans has an address in San Francisco but investigators believe he has been living in the Richmond area, according to police.
Evans is suspected of entering the Check N Go store at 720 Contra Costa Blvd. in Pleasant Hill at 11:50 a.m. on March 16, pointing a gun at the clerk and demanding cash, police said. The robber’s face was partially covered during the robbery, police said.
The clerk complied and gave the man cash, and the suspect fled on foot. Police said Evans’ car was searched after his arrest in San Francisco, and a loaded handgun and other evidence linking him to the robbery was found. He was booked into jail in San Francisco on suspicion of robbery, false imprisonment and committing a felony while on parole.
