Hollister police report that April 2nd, 2012 officers arrested Luis Humberto Garcia (28 yrs) of Hollister for assault on a police officer, possession of narcotics for sale and other felony charges.

Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Valley View Road for a call of several non-residents loitering in one of the laundry rooms. Officers contacted Garcia inside the laundry room. Garcia struck the officer as he tried to flee. Officers used their TASER’s but the suspect continued to resist arrest. The Deputy deployed his K9 partner and the suspect continued to resist. During the struggle, the suspect withdrew a handgun from his waist and pointed it at the officers. Officers were able to disarm the suspect and place him in handcuffs.  The investigation revealed the suspect is a documented criminal street gang member, was a wanted parolee-at-large since early 2011 and has repeatedly fled from officers and deputies over the last year.
