San Jose Police Robbery Detectives have arrested two suspects responsible for at least seven armed robberies in San Jose between March 8th and April 6th of 2012.  Officers arrested Suspect Ceja on 4/5/2012 in the area of Hillsdale Avenue and Ross Avenue in San Jose.  Officers arrested Suspect Gutierrez on 4/11/2012 in the area of McLaughlin Avenue and Capitol Expressway.  Both suspects remain in custody at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

During their investigation, Robbery Detectives learned that the suspects would enter a convenience-type store, retrieve an ice cream (on several occasions the suspects retrieved Neopolitan flavared ice cream bars – detectives began referring to the suspects as the “Neopolitan Bandits”), and walk to the counter as if to pay for the item.  The suspect then would produce a handgun, threaten the clerk, and take cash from the register.  On several occasions, the suspect would climb up onto the counter while brandishing a handgun at the clerk.  There were no injuries reported in any of the robberies.
