The Marin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a San Francisco man on suspicion of robbing three banks in Marin County in the past two weeks. Cory Allen Todd, 23, was arrested at the Tamalpais Motel at 680 Redwood Highway Frontage Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Marin County Jail booking log. Sheriff’s Sgt. Mark Hale said that at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a
resident reported seeing a man who matched the description of the suspect in the March 30 robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank at 209 Stawberry Village in Mill Valley.

Suspect Cory Allen Todd

He was driving a car near the motel, Hale said. Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers found the car in the motel parking lot and contacted Todd inside a motel room, Hale said.  Todd was identified as the man who allegedly robbed the Mills Valley Wells Fargo, as well as a Citibank in Greenbrae on March 30 and a Bank of Marin at 368 Ignacio Blvd. in Novato on March 28, Hale said.

The suspect in the Bank of Marin and Wells Fargo Bank robberies was described as a white man between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall with light-colored or bleached-blond hair. Todd’s height is listed as 5 feet 11 inches in the booking log. Novato police released a bank surveillance photo of the Bank of Marin robbery suspect. Todd is being held in Marin County Jail under $500,000 bail. Charges could be filed against Todd as soon as this afternoon, according to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.
