Two men were shot in West Oakland on Wednesday night, in an incident that may be related to another shooting blocks away, police said. The first shooting was in the 2700 block of Myrtle Street at around 8:45 p.m., an Oakland police officer said. A woman was shot at, but no one was injured. When officers responded those at the scene were uncooperative, police said.
Blocks away, in the 2900 block of West Street, two men were shot at 8:51 p.m., one in the thigh and the other in the elbow. The two men transported themselves to the hospital separately, and each told police they had been walking alone on the block when they were shot. Neither was able to provide a description of a possible suspect. Police believe the two shootings may be related, but it is unclear what the relationship may be. The two injured men are in stable condition.
