Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting in San Pablo Wednesday that killed 28-year-old Eduardo Ochoa, a police lieutenant said today. Around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2300 block of 17th Street, where they found Ochoa in his home’s front yard suffering from a gunshot wound, Lt. Jeff Palmieri said.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene and police spoke with some of the victim’s family members, who were home at the time of the shooting, the lieutenant said. Police believe a vehicle was involved in the shooting, since witnesses heard a car speeding away from the scene. Palmieri said detectives have not found a suspect vehicle description, nor any suspect leads. The shooting was San Pablo’s second homicide of the year.
