Santa Rosa police arrested a Los Angeles man Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting and pimping a 16-year-old girl. Chuncey Tarae Garcia, 32, was arrested at the Extended Stay America hotel at 2600 Corby Ave. in Santa Rosa, Sgt. John Snetsinger said Garcia was booked into the Sonoma County jail for unlawful sex with a minor and pimping a minor.He is being held under $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Sonoma County Superior Court.

Snetsinger said the girl was picked up in Oakland and driven to Santa Rosa approximately two weeks ago.The man who drove her to Santa Rosa sexually assaulted her and physically assaulted her when she refused to participate in prostitution for him, Snetsinger said.On Tuesday, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety took the 16-year-old girl to the Sutter Medical Center in Santa Rosa, Snetsinger said.

The girl said she was dropped off in Rohnert Park after the sexual and physical assaults in Santa Rosa, Snetsinger said. Santa Rosa’s domestic violence and sexual assault detectives searched two hotel rooms at the Extended Stay America hotel and found evidence of prostitution in the rooms, Snetsinger said. Detectives interviewed and detained witnesses and arrested Garcia, Snetsinger said.
