Hollister Police Department Press Release
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – March 11, 2012 – Hollister Police Department is investigating two motel robberies that have occurred in the last four days. A Hollister woman was injured during the last robbery attempt. On March 8, 2012, about 1030 P.M., two Hispanic male adults entered the Wiebe Motel at 1271 San Felipe Road. One of the suspects was armed with a rifle. The suspects demanded money. The clerk handed money from the till to the suspects. The suspects forced the clerk to lie flat on the floor, before leaving in a vehicle.
The armed suspect was described as being a Hispanic male in his mid to late twenties. The suspect holding the rifle had a goatee and was wearing a long-sleeved green shirt. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult wearing a beige shirt and in his mid to late twenties, On March 11, 2012, about 1020 P.M., two Hispanic male adults entered the Cinderella Motel at 110 San Felipe Road. One suspect, armed with a knife, jumped over the counter and demanded money. The female hotel clerk refused the suspects demand and a struggle ensued. The clerk was stabbed once on her side and sustained an injury to her hand. The clerk was flown to a bay area hospital for treatment.
The suspects fled the area prior to the police response. The suspects are described as Hispanic male adults in their twenties. Both were wearing gray sweatshirts. One of the suspects had a goatee. The suspects are still outstanding. Given the similarities of these two crimes and suspect descriptions there is a possibility the incidents are related.
