* Hollister Police Trying to Identify Alleged Theft Suspect from Safeway Store Caught on Camera

Hollister Police Press Release March 25, 2012

On March 23, 2012 at about 4:00 p.m. Hollister Police officers were called to Safeway at 341 Tres Pinos Road for a theft report. The suspect took money from a wallet of another customer and left the store.

The woman in the photo was seen taking a wallet from the victims shopping cart. She removed the cash from the wallet and placed the wallet back in another location in the store. The female suspect then left the store about two minutes later. The victim reported approximately $200 missing from her wallet. The entire incident was captured on a surveillance video system.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic female in her 50s. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Hollister Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect.

  • This is the first post I have see for Hollister! I feel sorry for the women who had her money taken, but REALLY who leaves their wallet unattended. Not saying her money should have been stolen but NEVER leave your belongings unattended. I even lock my purse in to the cart with the child restraint system. They want my purse/wallet they are going to have to take the whole cart, because my wallet is tightly packed away and zipped up in side.
