A tax service company was robbed at gunpoint in Salinas this morning, police said. The robbery was reported at 9:26 a.m. at the Jackson Hewitt Tax Service business located at 559 E. Alisal St., according to police.Two suspects entered the business armed with handguns and demanded money. They were given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled out of the business, police said.
The pair were last seen running toward an apartment complex on Roosevelt Street, and witnesses reported seeing the suspects get into a white four-door Ford Taurus or similar vehicle with a partial license plate 4TBJ, according to police. The first suspect was described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old who is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 190 pounds and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a dark bandana partially covering his face and dark pants, police said. The second suspect was a man of unknown race who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, according to police.
