The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in this photo. According to Detective Ben Hand, on March 18th 2012, at approximately 2PM, the above suspect ran from a health club in Ladera where he had been detained by staff because he was a suspect in multiple thefts from lockers at the club.

The suspect reached his vehicle at which time a San Mateo County Deputy Sheriff tried to stop and detain the suspect. The suspect intentionally attempted to run over the deputy then fled the area.

The deputy was able to get out of the way in time and was not injured. The suspect was last seen entering north bound highway 280 from Alpine Road in the Ladera area of unincorporated San Mateo County. The suspect vehicle is described as a tan or “salmon” colored Nissan Maxima or Toyota Camry 4-door, early 2000’s model.

The suspect was wearing a white long sleeve T shirt and black pants at the time of the assault. It is believed that he is familiar with the general area and may be known to citizens who reside in Ladera or the areas nearby.
