* Hillsborough Police Remind Residents to Lock Vehicles After String of Auto Burglaries

Police in Hillsborough are asking residents to secure their vehicles after several auto break-ins were reported on Friday. The first burglary occurred between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Marlborough Road, according to police. A suspect or suspects smashed the rear window of a vehicle and stole property from inside, police said.

The second burglary occurred just minutes later in the same block, police said. The driver’s side window of a vehicle was smashed and property was taken from inside. An unlocked vehicle in a driveway on nearby Carlton Road was also burglarized. A residence in the 1300 block of Marlborough Road was burglarized between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m., police said.

A suspect or suspects used tools from an unlocked garage to gain entry to the home and stole property from inside. Police are reminding residents to always lock their vehicles and remove property from view. Anyone who might have witnessed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact Hillsborough police at (650) 375-7411.
