* David Hoopai and Laurie Williams Arrested for Alleged Possession of Crack Cocaine in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz police arrested two people on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of selling drugs, police said.  Police searched a residence in the 200 block of Button Street after receiving reports of drug sales. After the search, police arrested David Hoopai, 41, and Laurie Williams, 50, after finding them with 7.7 grams of packaged crack cocaine and powder cocaine, police said.

The two were arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of sales, and Hoopai was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a stun gun. Hoopai is a convicted felon, police said. The two were booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
