A man was stabbed in the stomach during an attempted robbery in San Francisco on Wednesday night, police said. The stabbing was reported at 9:58 p.m. in the area of Alemany Boulevard and Geneva Avenue, near Balboa High School and the Balboa Park BART station. Police said the 18-year-old victim was approached by two suspects who tried to take his bag.
A struggle ensued, and the victim was punched twice in the face, then stabbed in the stomach, according to police. The suspects, two men believed to be in their mid-20s, fled in a red, two-door older-model Ford or Nissan and have not been found, police said. The victim, who was able to hold onto the bag, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, according to police.
