An Oakland middle school briefly went into lockdown this evening when gunshots were heard near the school, an Oakland police spokeswoman said. The shots were heard around 5:30 p.m. near Frick Middle School, located at 2845 64th Ave., police officer Johnna Watson said.About 10 students who were on the campus for an after-school program were ushered into the school’s cafeteria while police searched the area for possible shooters, spokesman Troy Flint said. Officers did not find any victims and didn’t locate the shooter, Watson said. The school lifted its lockdown shortly before 6 p.m., she said.
