A teenage boy was critically injured when he was shot on a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus in the city’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood on Monday afternoon, police said. The shooting was reported at 1:39 p.m. near Garrison Avenue and Rey Street. The 17-year-old victim was sitting in the back of the bus when a suspect got on and walked to the rear of the vehicle, then took out a gun and shot him multiple times, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. His wounds are considered life-threatening, police said.The suspect, a man believed to be in his early or mid-20s, ran off the bus and had not been found as of this morning.
