A car rolled onto its roof in an accident Monday morning on a street in Belmont, police said. Around 11:35 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a rollover crash in the 500 block of Oneill Avenue. Arriving officers found a 2001 Ford Escape on its roof in the middle of the roadway, police said.

The driver, 26-year-old Jesus Lizarraga-Rodriguez, of Belmont, was able to get out of the car before police arrived. Paramedics determined that he was unhurt, police said.  Police said it appears Lizarraga-Rodriguez was driving east on Oneill Avenue when he dropped a CD and reached down to pick it up. This caused him to drift into oncoming traffic and strike a Ford Expedition parked on the north side of the street before flipping over.

A Honda Accord parked behind the Expedition was also damaged in the crash, police said.  Oneill Avenue was closed to traffic for about an hour after the crash. Lizarraga-Rodriguez was cited at the scene for driving without a license, according to police.
