A man fatally shot in San Francisco’s Mission District on Friday evening has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 39-year-old Ronald Monzon.Monzon, a resident of the Central Valley city of Newman, was found by officers responding to a report of shots fired around 7:20 p.m. Friday near 23rd and Shotwell streets, police said.

Monzon was suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. His vehicle had collided with another unoccupied vehicle when officers found him, police said.
