The San Jose Police Homicide Investigations Unit has identified Dashawn Brown, 18, of San Jose, as the victim in the March 8 homicide on the 5100 block of Monterey Road in San Jose. The original press release otherwise remains unchanged.

San Jose:
The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating the city’s sixth homicide of 2012. On 3/8/2012, at approximately 7:05 P.M., the San Jose Police Department’s Communications Center received 9-1-1 calls stating that a male had been shot in the 5100 block of Monterey Road. Arriving officers located an adult male victim that had been shot multiple times. The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center via ambulance. The victim was pronounced deceased at 10:36 P.M.
The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively working the case. The motive behind the killing remains under investigation. No suspects have been arrested in this case. No further information is being released at this time.
