* Toddler Left to Freeze by Mother Esther Edwards-Gust and Boyfriend Richard Tilden in Alaska

Police in Anchorage, Alaska report that a second-grade teacher Esther Edwards-Gust and her companion Richard Tilden have been indicted for homicide and abuse charges in the death of the woman’s 3-year-old daughter. Police report that on February 4, 2012, the child was allegedly locked overnight in a freezing room in sub-zero temperatures with the window open. Her 1 year old sister was also injured as a result of being left in the cold room all night. It is not clear if they adults and surviving children are in custody or on the run.
