* Man Shot in Gilroy Parking Lot

A man was shot in the parking lot of a Gilroy apartment complex Sunday afternoon in what police are calling a possible gang-related incident. Callers first reported a man with a gun at 985 Monte Bello Drive around 1:30 p.m., according to police. Officers located a gunshot victim, described only as a Hispanic adult male, in the parking lot.

He was taken to a Bay Area trauma center for treatment, and his current medical condition is unknown. The police department’s Anti-Crime Team took over the investigation after it became apparent the shooting could be gang related. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Gilroy police. Anonymous tips can be called in to 1 (800) 782-7463.
