* Kathleen Cochrane Santa Rosa woman arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after hitting pedestrian

California Highway Patrol officers arrested a Santa Rosa woman on suspicion of driving under the influence this afternoon after she struck a 68-year-old woman with her car at Doran Regional Park on the Sonoma Coast.Kathleen Cochrane, 63, was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla on Doran Beach Road when she struck the woman late this morning, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

The CHP responded at 11:23 a.m.The woman, who has broken bones and head injuries, was flown by REACH helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Sloat said. Her injuries do not appear to be life threatening, Sloat said. Her name was not released. Cochran appeared intoxicated and was undergoing a drug evaluation at CHP headquarters in Rohnert Park this afternoon, Sloat said.
