A woman caught trying to steal alcohol in a Petaluma drug store Saturday morning attempted to spray the store manager with pepper spray and then hit him with her car before driving away, police said today.  The woman entered the CVS at 365 E. Washington St. around 9:30 a.m. and allegedly tried to steal several hundred dollars worth of alcohol, according to Sgt. Marty Frye.  When a manager confronted her, she allegedly tried to spray him with pepper spray and then fled to her vehicle.

The store manager tried to stop her, but the woman then backed her car into him and fled the scene.  The store manager was not injured. The woman was described as a light-skinned black woman, approximately 40 years old, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet and 9 inches tall with a thin build, and wearing a gray sweat suit. She was driving a dark gray Toyota sedan with a California license plate similar to 6LYMO33.
