Monterey County sheriff’s deputies seized a variety of drugs and drug paraphernalia while serving an arrest warrant in Monterey on Saturday, sheriff’s officials said.  Deputies found Reza Sotoodeh, 33, a transient, in a room at the La Quinta Inn at 2401 Del Monte Ave.  Sheriff’s officials said a misdemeanor warrant had been issued for Sotoodeh’s arrest.

When deputies entered the room, they saw methamphetamine and prescription pills in plain sight, according to the sheriff’s office. A search of the room uncovered more methamphetamine, heroin, scales and evidence that the drugs were intended for sale, sheriff’s officials said. Deputies said they found a total of 24 grams of methamphetamine. Sotoodeh was in the room with Shannon Davis, 34, of Seaside, sheriff’s officials said. Both were arrested on drug charges and booked into Monterey County Jail.
