San Francisco police on Tuesday made an arrest in connection with a beating that turned fatal in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood in October. David Hutching, 42, was critically injured in a beating in front of a home in the 400 block of Ellis Street on the night of Oct. 14, according to police. Hutching, a San Francisco resident, was found unconscious and bleeding from a large cut to his head.
He was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries on Oct. 26, police said. Investigators eventually identified 41-year-old Jarrett Earl Campbell as the suspect in the beating and arrested him in Oakland on Tuesday,according to police. Campbell, a San Francisco resident, was booked into jail on suspicion of the homicide.The case remains under investigation.
