* Martin Zuniga, David Carrasco and Kassandre Urquidez arrested in the Monterey County for allegedly interfering with a traffic investigation

Three people were arrested Saturday in the Monterey County community of San Lucas for allegedly interfering with a traffic investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. A deputy made a traffic stop on a Honda Accord near Main and Anita streets at about 7:40 p.m.,according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, 23-year-old Martin Zuniga, was allegedly driving on a suspended license and had a warrant out for his arrest, officials said.

While Zuniga was being questioned, two people came out of a nearby residence and allegedly confronted the deputy, officials said. David Carrasco, 19, and Kassandre Urquidez, 18, both refused to follow instructions and obstructed the deputy in the performance of his duties, according to the sheriff’s office. Urquidez reportedly had a 3-inch folding knife that she said was for cutting vegetables.All three suspects were arrested and booked at Monterey County
Jail.
