Police arrested two suspects who allegedly robbed a man on his way to work in San Mateo on Wednesday morning. The victim, a 24-year-old San Mateo resident, was walking to work in the area of Tilton Avenue and North Fremont Street at about 5:45 a.m. Wednesday when he was approached by two suspects in a gold-colored vehicle, police said.
The suspects threatened the victim and took his property, including a backpack, lunch box and cellphone, according to police. By about 2 p.m. Wednesday, police were eventually able to track the suspects to the 1600 block of Mission Drive in Colma, where they were identified and arrested.
Santino Deandre Rodriguez, 20, of Sacramento, was arrested and booked into county jail on suspicion of robbery, possession of stolen property and conspiracy while a 17-year-old Sacramento resident was booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy, police said. A third suspect, Phoenix Philip Allianic-O’Brien, 18, of Sacramento, was with the alleged robbers at the time of the arrest and was booked into county jail on suspicion of drug charges, according to police.
