The shooting occurred at around 5 p.m. near Center Street and Grove Way, Alameda County sheriff’s Sgt. J.D. Nelson said. At least two Berkeley police officers were attempting to take a suspect into custody when the man pinned one of the officers between his vehicle and the officers’ unmarked car, Nelson said.
