The California Highway Patrol arrested a Sonoma man this afternoon whose driver’s license was suspended in 1982. Clifford Alan Collins, 51, has had four license suspensions since then for DUI and being a negligent operator, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.
Collins also is on parole for drug violations, Sloat said. CHP Officer Brian Wood saw Collins’ Honda Accord weaving onto the shoulder of southbound U.S. Highway 101 near Railroad Avenue south of Santa Rosa around 2:30 p.m., Sloat said.Collins was pulled over and was unable to provide a driver’s license, Sloat said.
Wood found hypodermic needles in Collins’ car and he was booked into the Sonoma County jail for driving on a suspended license, possession of hypodermic needles and violating his parole, Sloat said.
