Oakland police are investigating a double homicide that left a man and woman dead Friday night. Oakland police Officer J. Moore said a double homicide was reported at 9:34 p.m. in the 200 block of Athol Avenue. A man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene by Oakland police at 10:46 p.m., Moore said.
Only 15 minutes prior, a fatal shooting was reported in West Oakland. A man found shot in the 800 block of Center Street was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, according to police. Police said there is no connection between the two incidents.
