* Charles Worden Arrested by Mendocino Sheriff’s Deputies for Alleged Criminal Threats Against Jacqueline Pettit

Mendocino Sheriff’s Office Press Release 1/23/12

On 01-21-2012 at approximately 1700 hours, deputies were dispatched to a call for service regarding criminal threats and met with the victim, Jacqueline Pettit, at the Sheriff’s Office Fort Bragg Substation.

Pettit told deputies that she had received a threatening message on her telephone from Suspect Charles Worden.  The call was received between 1400 and 1500 hours this date.  The content of the message placed Pettit in fear for her safety and she believed the suspect was going to harm her.

At approximately 1845 hours, deputies made contact with Worden at his current place of residence and interviewed him regarding Pettit’s allegations.  Worden admitted to leaving the threatening message on Pettit’s telephone and said he would possibly carry out the threat.

Worden was arrested for 422 PC.  Prior to being transported to the Mendocino County Jail, deputies determined that Worden was on active probation with a “consume no alcohol” term.  Worden, who had been consuming alcohol, was additionally charged with 1203.2 PC.

Worden was booked into the Mendocino County Jail with bail set at $20,000.00.
