* Thomas Trost Arrested for Alleged Negligent Discharge of a Firearm and Resisting Arrest

Police arrested a 20-year-old man Tuesday morning in connection with negligent discharge of a firearm in an unincorporated area of Contra Costa County south of Brentwood, according to a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.  At 8:30 p.m. Monday night the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office received a report of gunshots fired near Marsh Creek Road and Lydia Lane in an unincorporated area of Contra Costa County, spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Deputies were unable to make contact with the suspect located on the 18000 block of Marsh Creek Road, Lee said. By 1:07 a.m. Tuesday, a negotiator convinced the suspect to surrender. No shooting victims were found, Lee said. Police arrested 20-year-old Thomas Trost and booked him at the county jail for negligent discharge of a firearm and resisting arrest. Bail
was set at $50,000, Lee said.
