* Danny Klontz primary suspect in San Jose murder of Manuel Andrade

San Jose:
The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating the city’s second homicide of 2012. On 01/01/2012, Suspect Danny James Klontz assaulted Victim Manuel Andrade in a parking lot located on the south-east corner of Pomona Avenue and Alma Avenue in San Jose.  A second female victim attempted to intervene and was also assaulted.  Victim Andrade did not seek medical attention after the assault.  Victim Andrade was found dead in his encampment on January 6th.

On January 9th, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Victim Andrade.  The autopsy revealed that Victim Andrade died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.  The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit investigated the death and subsequently identified Danny Klontz as the primary suspect in the case.  Officers arrested Suspect Klontz on January 12th.  On January 17th, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed homicide and assault with a deadly weapon charges against Suspect Klontz.  Suspect Klontz remains in custody at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.  The motive behind the killing remains under investigation.
