A 16-year-old girl, who was taken from her home Tuesday around 8:55 p.m., was returned safe around midnight.
Christina Anderson was taken from her home in Salida when the suspect forced his way into the residence, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputy Raj Singh said.
Calvin Paul Rodrigues, 38, was named as the suspect in the abduction, Singh said.
Sgt. Frank Fenn said Rodrigues returned Anderson to her home, where she seemed physically fine.
Rodrigues was arrested at the scene.
Rodrigues faces charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and making terrorist threats, Fenn said.
Singh said Anderson is being taken to the sheriff’s department for questioning.
